Why is breakfast important?

We all live busy lives and have strict schedules we need to adhere to. Skipping breakfast is what happens to a lot of people. You need to get ready for work, commute to it, figure out when and where you’re going to get your coffee from, and more. It is easy to lose track of what is important in that mess, and that is breakfast. It is definitely the most important meal of the day, as it prepares you for everything that is to follow. Breakfast jump-starts our metabolism in the morning which then, in turn, helps burn calories throughout the day, because your body realizes it doesn’t need to conserve food. It also boosts our energy levels, which is instrumental in getting everything done efficiently and properly. Breakfast also balances blood sugar levels by breaking down glucose. 

Not only that, but it also stimulates our brain. It helps us focus better and process information faster. Combine that with a higher energy level it provides and you have got yourself a great, productive day. When you have a productive day, your mood brightens, as you’ve accomplished something that you set out to do. It is all connected, everything starts early in the morning, it dictates how your day is going to go. Of course, there’s also a question of what to eat, as eating right about anything won’t cut it. It is not ideal to eat a doughnut and a cut of greasy pizza in the morning, so we’ve compiled 5 easy breakfasts that are healthy and nutritious.

Avocado toast with eggs

Breakfast doesn’t have to be overly complicated. Get yourself two pieces of whole-grain bread and top it off with smashed avocados and a little bit of pepper and salt. Prepare two sunny-side-up eggs and put them on each slice of bread. This means you’ve also added protein to your breakfast. It is simple, yet extremely effective and delicious.

Peanut butter and banana smoothie

You’re not in a mood to eat anything? Don’t worry, there are always tons of healthy smoothies to choose from that offer everything the body needs in the morning. You will need to blend frozen bananas, peanut butter, preferably soy milk, a bit of yogurt, and honey. You can even blend ice cubes for the full effect. It is incredibly tasty and can help you start your day in the correct way. This method also works if you are just getting used to breakfast. You’ve been skipping them for a long time and just can’t fathom eating something as soon as you wake up. Thankfully, this doesn’t really require eating as you can just sip it at your own pace.

Quinoa fruit salad

Here’s another great one. Quinoa fruit salad offers you a bombastic boost of energy while tasting amazing. All you need to do is rinse and prepare your quinoa, then combine it with blueberries, strawberries, and mango. Of course, fruit selection may vary depending on what you like, but it has to fit with the overall theme. Fitting with the overall theme means you won’t put a whole watermelon in the bowl and sprinkle some quinoa over it, you’ll rather combine fruits that match with quinoa. 

Blueberry Almond Overnight Oats 

For this incredible breakfast, all you need to do is combine oats, chia seeds, vanilla, blueberries, almond milk, and maple syrup. Put them in a sealed container and leave them to cool overnight. You can add more almonds and banana slices in the morning to it, but that’s up to you. This one is great because you don’t even have to prepare anything in the morning. You can literally roll out of bed and start enjoying your breakfast.

Breakfast egg muffins

These are fairly simple to make. You need to blend eggs with spinach, bacon, and cheese, after which you pour the mixture into the muffin tin. Afterward, you need to bake it for approximately 15 or 20 minutes. Grab one or two to eat, start your day right, store the rest in the fridge for tomorrow… Or later on. These ones can literally last you for the entire week.
